P.M.Serajul Islam, Our Correspondent, Kushtia:  A broken bridge has turned into death trap at Gopogram area on the road of Khoksa to Gopogram Bazar that may lead to a fatal accident any time.

According to locals, the condition of bridge became very bad within a short time of the completion of construction work. Bad quality materials and lack of supervision have been blamed for it.

The bridge is narrow and small that the drivers find it very difficult to ply through it.

Local sources said that the movements of all kinds of all transport stopped three years ago because of the dilapidated  condition the bridge near the gopogram Bazar crossing of Khoksa under Kushtia district.

At that time, the department of Kushtia LGED decided to build a bailey bridge on the bridge.

On the other hand, the driver of every transport is running the vehicles with high risk as small the width of the bailey bridge is too little .

About 20 road accidents occurred after building this bridge.

Executive Engineer of Kushtia LGED, Abdur Rahim said to the Daily Observer that the Bailey bridge would be made suitable for the movements of vehicle at the earliest.
